Job Summary
This role at the NLWKN in Verden involves the comprehensive management of groundwater monitoring stations across Lower Saxony. You will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of these stations, including site selection, construction oversight, functional testing, and maintenance. Day-to-day tasks include performing hydraulic tests, camera inspections, conducting surveying work, and managing technical data within the AquaInfo database. You will also coordinate procurement processes for geophysical investigations and maintenance works. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented technician with a background in drilling, geological, or environmental engineering who enjoys field-based work combined with administrative project management. Required Skills
Education
Completed vocational training as a State-Certified Technician (Staatlich geprüfter Techniker) with a focus on drilling technology, geological technology, environmental protection technology, or an equivalent qualification.
Experience
- Professional experience in the construction, operation, and maintenance of groundwater monitoring stations.
- Practical experience in water management and field-based technical operations.
- Experience in soil science, hydrology, and hydrochemistry.
- Proven ability to conduct qualified groundwater sampling.

- Valid Class B driver's license required. Willingness to travel throughout Lower Saxony, including multi-day trips. Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively with public authorities.
