Job Summary

The Philipps-University Marburg is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to join the 'Microbes for Climate (M4C)' excellence cluster. Working within the Department of Chemistry under the supervision of Dr. Schuller, the successful candidate will focus on the molecular mechanisms of microorganisms contributing to the carbon cycle, specifically investigating bioenergetic complexes of the Wood-Ljungdahl pathway. The role involves high-resolution structural biology using Cryo-EM, in situ cellular characterization via Cryo-ET and super-resolution microscopy, and the development of an independent research project. Candidates must hold a PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, Physics, or Chemistry and possess proven experience in anaerobic structural biology and protein purification. This position is ideal for an early-career scientist looking to conduct high-impact, interdisciplinary research in a modern, well-equipped academic environment, with opportunities for teaching and professional development.
