Job Summary

The Federal Agency for Agriculture and Food (BLE) is seeking an IT Specialist to join their Product Development department in Bonn. In this permanent, full-time role, you will be responsible for the implementation and maintenance of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to visualize specialized data. Your day-to-day tasks include managing WebGIS applications, configuring map services (WMS, WFS, WCS), and integrating geodata sources with PostgreSQL/PostGIS databases. You will also provide technical consultation, support metadata management via Geonetwork, and maintain comprehensive technical documentation. The position requires a strong background in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a related STEM field, or alternatively, at least 8 years of relevant professional experience. You should possess analytical, problem-solving, and collaborative skills to succeed in this dynamic public sector environment. Required Skills
