Job Summary

As a Data Engineer at a leading digitalization partner for the cooperative financial group, you will play a pivotal role in transforming the existing Big Data Analytics landscape toward a modern AI and cloud-based architecture. Operating within an agile, cross-functional squad of 12 colleagues, your daily responsibilities include data modeling, designing, and implementing ETL processes for business analytics and machine learning models. You will manage the entire development lifecycle—from requirement analysis and software architecture design to test automation and support. This position is particularly attractive due to its high-impact nature, supporting over 900 banks and 30 million customers, and offers exceptional flexibility with hybrid work options and a customizable 30-40 hour work week. You will work with cutting-edge technologies like Python, Spark, and Kafka while contributing to the strategic development of a 'Data Integration Hub' in a stable, system-relevant banking environment.

Required Skills

Education

Completed degree in (Applied) Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable qualification.

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in data engineering or a related field
  • Extensive experience in Python programming including logic, problem-solving, and testing
  • Proven experience with relational databases and SQL
  • Experience in the development, test automation, and maintenance of Big Data solutions
  • Experience with deployment processes, preferably within OpenShift environments
  • Experience in agile, cross-functional team environments
