Job Summary

This part-time position joins the Experimental Aortic Surgery research group to support a research project funded by the German Center for Cardiovascular Research (DZHK). You will be responsible for the daily processing and storage of samples within the Munich Aortic and Cardiac Surgery Biobank (MACS), including the isolation and cultivation of primary cells from human aortic tissue. Your role involves a variety of molecular biology tasks such as RNA extraction, RT-qPCR, and Western Blotting, alongside histological preparation and functional cell assays using the Incucyte system. Beyond bench work, you will manage biobank databases, handle laboratory organization and ordering, and ensure documentation follows Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) standards. Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as a Biological Technical Assistant (BTA), Medical Technical Assistant (MTA/MTLA), or a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedicine, or a related natural science field.

Experience

  • Professional experience in basic laboratory techniques such as pipetting, PCR, and DNA/RNA extraction
  • Experience in cell culture and molecular biology research
  • Professional experience in histology, immunohistochemistry, or biobanking processes is considered an advantage
  • Entry-level candidates with relevant vocational training or a Bachelor's degree are welcome to apply
