Job Summary
As a Network Specialist specializing in Infrastructure and Security, you will join an IT team dedicated to the regional craft economy in the Cologne/Bonn area. Your daily responsibilities will involve the planning, operation, and continuous development of network and security infrastructures, including the administration of LAN, WAN, WLAN, firewall, and VPN systems. You will play a critical role in implementing IT security concepts such as access controls and patch management while participating in modernization projects and migrations. This full-time position (39.83 hours per week) offers the stability of the German public service sector (TV-L EG 12) and is ideal for a professional who enjoys a mix of hands-on administration and strategic project work. Required Skills
Education
Completed university degree in IT (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology) or an equivalent professional qualification.
Experience
- Extensive professional experience in the design and implementation of network structures
- Proven experience in IT security and infrastructure operations
- Professional experience in administering routing, switching, and firewall technologies
- Experience working within Windows and/or Linux server environments
- Experience in IT project participation, specifically migrations and infrastructure modernization
