Job Summary
This leadership position involves managing the Budgeting and Controlling department for the City of Garbsen. The successful candidate will oversee a diverse portfolio including budget planning, financial forecasting, investment programming, and asset accounting. Day-to-day responsibilities include the preparation of double-entry annual financial statements, strategic management of municipal shareholdings, and providing expert financial advice to the administrative leadership. Required Skills
Education
Bachelor of Arts in Administrative Science, Diploma in Public Administration (FH), or a comparable degree in Public Administration; or successful completion of the Level II Administrative Exam (Verwaltungsfachwirt).
Experience
- Several years of professional experience in double-entry municipal budgeting (Doppik)
- Experience in preparing annual financial statements and asset accounting
- Experience in investment management and risk analysis
- Previous leadership and management experience is preferred
- Experience working within municipal administrative and decision-making structures

- Must provide a declaration of consent for personnel file inspection if currently employed in the public service. Foreign degrees require formal evaluation/recognition by the Central Office for Foreign Education (ZAB). Candidates must be available for interviews on June 5, 2026.
