Job Summary

This role involves leading a dedicated software development team at the IT Service Center (IT-DLZ) for the Free State of Bavaria. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of developers, including performance reviews and personnel development, while overseeing software projects for the Ministry of Education (StMUK). Key responsibilities include requirement analysis, coordinating with internal testing and operations teams, and managing external service providers. The position is ideal for an experienced Java developer with leadership ambitions who wants to shape e-government applications in a secure public sector environment. It offers a unique balance of technical depth—working with complex architectures and Oracle databases—and management duties. The role is highly attractive due to its crisis-proof nature, offering up to 80% remote work, civil servant status potential for qualified master's graduates, and a structured path for professional growth within the Bavarian state administration.
