Job Summary
As a Research Scientist at the FILK Freiberg Institute, you will drive innovation in functional multilayer polymer materials. Your primary focus will be developing functional composites using polymer coating, specifically through calendering and extrusion processes. This role is highly autonomous, allowing you to initiate new research projects and build a long-term technical focus within the department's strategy. Day-to-day, you will write research proposals for national and international funding bodies, manage project execution, and provide technical guidance to laboratory staff. You will also represent the institute by presenting findings at international conferences and in peer-reviewed journals. Required Skills
Education
Master's degree, Diploma, or PhD in Chemistry, Polymer Science, or a related field of study.
Experience
- Professional experience in polymer processing, specifically with extrusion and calendering technologies
- Experience in formulating and compounding polymer composites
- Proven track record in scientific writing and publishing research results
- Experience in drafting and submitting research project proposals is highly desirable
- Experience in leading technical or laboratory staff within a research context
