Job Summary
This role is situated within the Office for Building Law and Environment, specifically focusing on water management and groundwater protection. As an Environmental Engineer, you will be responsible for the sustainable management of water resources, ensuring proper wastewater disposal, and conducting technical assessments for water law procedures. Your day-to-day tasks include evaluating applications for groundwater extraction, geothermal systems, and gravel pits, as well as providing expert technical opinions for third-party participation processes. You will also oversee funded water supply measures and participate in water inspections alongside the health department. This position is ideal for professionals who enjoy a mix of technical analysis, administrative consulting for municipalities, and field-based oversight. Required Skills
Education
University degree (Bachelor, Master, or Diploma) in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering with a focus on Water Management, or a comparable field of study.
Experience
- Professional experience in water management, groundwater protection, or civil engineering with a focus on water resources
- Experience in creating technical assessments and expert opinions for administrative procedures
- Experience in monitoring and supervising technical measures or funded projects
- Experience or willingness to work with technical regulations, guidelines, and administrative procedures
