Job Summary

This role involves overseeing the planning and coordination of structural design and safety for shipbuilding projects. As a Sub-Project Manager, you will be responsible for the constructive layout of vessels, focusing specifically on ship theory, safety, and structural integrity. Your daily tasks include technical leadership of a project team, close collaboration with construction and manufacturing departments, and acting as a primary point of contact for customers, classification societies, and flag states. You will also manage procurement by drafting technical specifications, evaluating supplier offers, and supervising external design partners. This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys a mix of technical oversight and leadership within a globally recognized engineering services group, offering the chance to work on high-impact maritime projects.

Required Skills

Education

University degree in Shipbuilding, Mechanical Engineering, or a comparable qualification.

Experience

  • Professional experience in shipbuilding or special-purpose machinery manufacturing
  • Experience in leading project teams and disciplinary leadership
  • Experience in coordinating with classification societies and flag states
  • Experience in creating technical specifications and evaluating supplier bids
