Job Summary
This full-time, permanent position involves leading and managing municipal infrastructure projects for the city of Mettmann. You will be responsible for the project management, planning, and implementation of road, bridge, and civil engineering measures of varying complexity. Day-to-day duties include supervising construction sites, managing public tenders and procurement processes, and overseeing external engineering firms. You will also play a key role in bridge inspections according to DIN 1076 and maintain structural databases. This role is ideal for a civil engineer who enjoys high levels of autonomy and decision-making authority. Required Skills
Education
Degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Road Construction, Civil Engineering, Transport, or a comparable field. Qualification as a structural inspector (Bauwerksprüfer) is desirable.
Experience
- Several years of professional experience in construction management for the building and maintenance of structures, roads, and public spaces
- Extensive experience with technical standards, guidelines, and recommendations specific to North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW)
- Proven experience in handling public tenders and procurement procedures
- Professional experience in managing external engineering offices and project stakeholders
