Job Summary

The Faculty of Civil Engineering, Water, and Soil at Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join their team in Suderburg. This role involves comprehensive laboratory duties, including sample disposal, washing, and storage, as well as preparing and analyzing chemical, organic, and inorganic samples. The successful candidate will perform analyses of water and solid samples using various analytical methods (IC, GPC, GC, ICP-OES, FTIR, SEM-EDX) and ensure the maintenance of laboratory infrastructure and analytical systems. Additionally, you will support quality management and occupational safety, develop work instructions, and guide students and interns during laboratory practicals and research projects. This is a part-time, two-year fixed-term position starting October 1, 2025, offering a dynamic environment within a large university.

Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as a Chemical-Technical Assistant (CTA), Environmental Protection Technical Assistant (UTA), Laboratory Technician, Environmental Protection Technician, Specialist for Wastewater Technology, Supply and Disposal Specialist (Wastewater), or Chemical Laboratory Technician.

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in analytics
  • Practical experience in sample preparation, operation, and maintenance of measurement systems
  • Experience in radiation protection, decontamination, and waste treatment (advantageous)

Languages

German (Fluent)

Additional

  • Class B driving license required. Work permit for Germany may be required for non-EU citizens. Foreign university degrees require evaluation by the Central Office for Foreign Education (ZAB).
