Job Summary

As a Project Manager for Water Treatment at AWIA Umwelt GmbH (part of the SGS Group), you will take end-to-end responsibility for groundwater and drinking water treatment projects. Your day-to-day work involves planning and organizing maintenance, sampling schedules, and media changes for environmental technicians, as well as coordinating with laboratories for analysis. You will be responsible for technical reporting, presenting progress to clients and authorities, and managing project finances including invoicing. For new projects, you will collaborate on conceptual design, cost calculations, and economic feasibility studies. This role is unique because it offers a high degree of autonomy, allowing you to manage projects from initial bid through construction and operation to final completion. It is a hands-on position where you are expected to support your team on-site when technical challenges arise, ensuring a holistic approach to environmental remediation.

Required Skills

Education

University degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Protection, Chemistry, Biology, Geosciences, or a comparable technical/scientific qualification.

Experience

  • Professional experience in environmental technology, environmental protection, or a related field.
  • Experience in the technical or scientific sector as a Chemist, Biologist, or Geoscientist is also acceptable.
  • Experience in project planning, organization, and conceptual design of technical systems.
  • Experience in client communication and presenting technical results to authorities.
  • Experience in coordinating field technicians and laboratory services.
