Job Summary

This high-profile leadership role combines a W3 Professorship for Microbiology at the Technical University of Braunschweig with the Scientific Directorship of the Leibniz Institute DSMZ, one of the world's largest bioresource centers. The successful candidate will oversee the strategic, scientific, and structural development of the institute, managing over 90,000 bioresources and approximately 230 employees. Day-to-day, you will lead your own research group focusing on collection-oriented microbiology, utilizing bioinformatics and AI-supported methods to explore microbial biodiversity, microbiome research, or infection biology.
