Job Summary
As a Global Senior R&D Manager at Rhenoflex (part of the Coats Footwear Division), you will lead the strategic planning, execution, and monitoring of complex development projects within the footwear materials sector. Your day-to-day responsibilities include coordinating cross-functional teams, developing innovative materials and technologies, and managing project risks, budgets, and timelines. You will serve as a technical advisor on sustainability and regulatory compliance while collaborating closely with production, suppliers, and research institutes. This role is unique for its global scope within a company boasting a 250-year history, offering a high degree of creative freedom and the opportunity to shape the future of the textile industry. You will be responsible for leading and developing the R&D team, presenting results to stakeholders, and evaluating raw materials to ensure market-leading quality and innovation.
Required Skills
Education
Master's degree in Material Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; a PhD is considered advantageous but not mandatory.
Experience
- Extensive professional experience in material sciences and engineering fundamentals
- Proven track record in managing complex R&D projects including budget and timeline oversight
- Demonstrated leadership experience in managing and developing technical teams
- Professional experience in the footwear industry is preferred
- Experience working with sustainability and regulatory frameworks is preferred
- Experience using R&D and project management software tools
