Job Summary

As a System Architecture Engineer for HVDC Systems at Amprion, you will play a pivotal role in shaping Germany's energy transition. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve developing the electrical system layout for HVDC systems, covering critical areas such as AC grid connections, converters, direct current, and underground cabling. You will act as the central point of contact for holistic electrical system design questions during both planning and implementation phases. This role is highly collaborative, requiring you to manage interfaces across projects and coordinate technical positions within a multi-TSO context across Germany and Europe. You will also evaluate technological advancements, initiate technical studies, and provide expert support during commercial tenders for cables and platforms. This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys technical complexity and strategic coordination, offering a modern work environment with flexible hours and a 38-hour work week.

Required Skills

Education

Successfully completed degree in Electrical Engineering or a comparable field of study with an electrical engineering focus.

Experience

  • Professional experience in energy technology and electrical power grids
  • In-depth knowledge of offshore and onshore HVDC converters and high-voltage equipment
  • Experience in interface management within complex technical projects
  • Proven track record in strategic technical coordination and negotiation
  • Experience supporting commercial tenders and procurement for large-scale energy projects
