Job Summary
This role is a research and teaching position at the Justus Liebig University Giessen, focusing on the molecular signaling of the plant red-light receptor phytochrome. As a Research Associate, you will conduct scientific research aimed at completing a doctoral degree (PhD), specifically investigating the nuclear translocation of phytochrome A in Arabidopsis thaliana. Your day-to-day responsibilities include performing molecular biological, biochemical, and cell biological experiments, collaborating with partners on single-molecule microscopy and mass spectrometry, and presenting findings at international conferences. Additionally, you will contribute to academic teaching by supervising Bachelor's and Master's students and assisting with course delivery. Required Skills
Education
Master's degree or equivalent university degree in Biology, Biochemistry, or Molecular Biology.
Experience
- Professional experience in molecular plant physiology or genetics
- Experience in molecular cell biology is required
- Experience with protein biochemistry and imaging techniques is preferred
- Experience in academic teaching or student supervision is expected
- Experience in scientific publication and conference presentation
