As an Accountant, you will manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance. You will play a key role in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements according to HGB (German Commercial Code) and handle international tax matters such as VAT returns and refund applications within the EU. The position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys working in an international, English-speaking environment. You will work closely with commercial management to modernize the finance department while supporting the company's mission of ecological responsibility on the high seas. Required Skills
Education
Completed vocational training as a Tax Assistant (Steuerfachangestellte/r) or equivalent qualification.
Experience
- Several years of professional experience in financial accounting, ideally within an international business environment
- Proven experience in preparing financial statements according to HGB standards
- Practical experience in handling VAT returns and international summary reports
- Experience working with ERP systems, specifically Microsoft Dynamics 365 or DATEV
