Job Summary
As a Biochemist at REPLOID Deutschland GmbH, you will play a pivotal role in the circular economy by transforming organic nutrients from frass into high-value, marketable products. Your daily responsibilities involve developing and testing methods to concentrate and stabilize nutrients, prototyping new product formats such as liquid extracts and granules, and optimizing process parameters like pH levels and filtration. You will bridge the gap between laboratory science and applied process engineering, investigating humic-like substances and their functional properties. This role is ideal for a proactive scientist who enjoys hands-on research and development within a dynamic startup environment. You will contribute to third-party funded R&D projects and help shape the company's growth as it transitions to a new facility in Leipzig. The position offers a unique opportunity to apply biochemistry to sustainable agriculture and biostimulants, making a tangible impact on environmental sustainability.
Required Skills
Education
Master's degree in Biochemistry, Environmental Chemistry, Soil Chemistry, Food Chemistry, Bioprocess Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related field; alternatively, a Bachelor's degree with relevant professional experience.
Experience
- Professional experience in R&D or product development, preferably in a startup environment
- 2-4 years of relevant laboratory experience if holding a Bachelor's degree
- Practical experience in formulation, extraction, or chemical modification
- Experience in experimental design and documentation
- Previous exposure to organic fertilizers, biostimulants, or related product fields

- Valid Class B driver's license required. Willingness to travel occasionally (10-15%). Role requires initial presence in Pegau followed by a relocation to Leipzig in September.
