Job Summary

As a Contamination Management Officer at the Institute for Federal Real Estate (BImA) in Rostock, you will take technical responsibility for managing soil and groundwater contamination across a diverse federal property portfolio. Your day-to-day work involves evaluating suspected contaminated sites, estimating remediation costs, and initiating exploration and cleanup measures. You will serve as a key technical advisor, coordinating with federal authorities, ministries, and construction departments to ensure compliance with the Federal Soil Protection Act (BBodSchG). Required Skills

Education

Experience

  • Professional experience in the exploration, assessment, or remediation of contaminated sites
  • Experience in project management or project leadership within environmental sectors
  • Experience in technical controlling of contaminated site measures
  • Professional experience in handling PFAS-contaminated properties is desirable
  • Experience in coordinating with public authorities and ministries

Additional

  • Valid Class B driver's license and willingness to drive service vehicles is required. Willingness to undertake nationwide business travel and multi-day training sessions. Must be eligible for public service employment (TVöD Bund E14).
