Job Summary

This leadership role involves managing the Sampling Services Department (Unit 63.4) for the State Office for Nature, Environment, and Consumer Protection (LANUK) across three locations: Herten, Hagen, and Münster. You will lead a team of approximately 20 employees responsible for monitoring wastewater, surface water, and groundwater. Day-to-day responsibilities include conceptual sampling planning, organizing complex logistics, and managing resources such as materials and vehicle fleets. You will act as a key advisor to regulatory authorities and water boards, ensuring all measurement programs are accurately reflected in laboratory data management systems. Required Skills

Education

Bachelor's degree or Diploma (FH) in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a comparable field with an environmental/analytical focus; or completed career examination for the higher technical administrative service.

Experience

  • At least 4 years of professional experience in environmental monitoring or analytical chemistry
  • At least 2 years of leadership experience in a relevant technical field
  • Professional experience in wastewater sampling and sewage treatment plant operations
  • Experience with public administration structures and environmental monitoring regulations
