Job Summary
As a Firewall Specialist in the telecommunications sector, you will be responsible for the end-to-end planning, implementation, and operation of complex firewall infrastructures. Your daily activities will include managing incident and problem resolution, serving as a technical interface to 3rd level manufacturer support, and overseeing product lifecycles. You will also provide sales support and participate in on-call rotations. This position is particularly attractive due to its flexible hybrid model, offering high home-office availability with minimal travel requirements. Working with industry-leading technologies like Cisco FirePower and Fortinet FortiGate, you will play a critical role in maintaining security standards within a regulatory or critical infrastructure (KRITIS) environment. The role is initially a 18-month contract with a clear option for permanent takeover, providing a stable path into a long-term career with a specialized technology consultancy.
Required Skills
Education
Completed vocational training or a Bachelor's degree in IT, Communications Engineering, or a comparable qualification.
Experience
- Minimum 4 years of professional experience in the IT security sector
- Professional experience in the operation of sophisticated firewall infrastructures
- Experience with planning and implementing complex security solutions
- Experience working with Cisco and Fortinet product suites
- Experience in 3rd level support coordination and product lifecycle management
