This role offers a unique opportunity to join DESY, one of the world's leading research centers, specifically working on the PETRA IV project—an ambitious next-generation synchrotron radiation source. As a Quality Management Engineer, you will lead the quality assurance work package within the technical coordination team. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include implementing quality management systems according to ISO standards, conducting design reviews, and overseeing the procurement, delivery, and construction of complex plant components. You will also be responsible for planning and evaluating quality audits. Required Skills
Education
University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Process Engineering, Materials Science, Precision Engineering, or equivalent; Certification as a Quality Manager.
Experience
- Professional experience in quality management, including application of relevant ISO standards
- Extensive technical expertise in the operation of large-scale facilities or major production lines
- Experience in leading quality assurance work packages or projects
- Proven track record in conducting and monitoring design reviews and audits
- Experience in supporting procurement and construction phases of technical equipment

- The position is initially fixed-term for 2 years with an option for permanent extension. Mobile work is possible up to 50%. Location: Hamburg, Germany.
