Job Summary
As a Vehicle AI Context Engineer at BMW Group, you will be at the forefront of making premium vehicles truly intelligent. Your daily responsibilities involve defining core semantic ontologies and context data models that power agentic AI for Autonomous Driving and Real-Time systems. You will lead technical projects from concept to series production, designing multi-level memory concepts that allow vehicles to learn and retain context. This role bridges the gap between physical signals and semantic meaning, orchestrating the integration of Machine Learning, Generative AI, and symbolic reasoning. You will be responsible for selecting the technology stack and creating high-quality reference datasets that define AI performance. This position is unique because it offers the opportunity to shape the 'brain' of future BMW vehicles, working on sophisticated architectures like Small Language Models (SLMs) and Vision Language Models (VLMs) within a high-performance automotive environment.
Required Skills
Education
Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
Experience
- Professional experience in managing technical projects and leading cross-functional teams toward architectural goals
- Proven track record in Knowledge Graph technologies and semantic data modeling
- Experience with embedded systems and mapping physical signals to semantic meaning
- Professional experience in designing complex information flows for ML pipelines
- Experience in the automotive domain is preferred but not mandatory
- Expertise in Agentic AI architecture, including tool-use and memory management
