Job Summary

As a Data Engineer at MED-EL, you will be responsible for the implementation, management, and continuous improvement of enterprise-wide security technologies. Your daily activities will involve analyzing and responding to security alerts and incidents, as well as collaborating with IT and engineering teams to ensure secure system architectures across cloud and network environments. A significant part of the role focuses on automating cybersecurity processes and supporting incident response through digital forensics. This position is ideal for a technical professional who enjoys a hands-on approach to security engineering and wants to work in a mission-driven environment that helps people with hearing loss. The role offers a permanent full-time contract with a flexible 38.5-hour work week and a core working hours model.

Required Skills

Education

Bachelor's degree or higher (University or University of Applied Sciences) in Computer Science, IT, or a related technical field.

Experience

  • Professional experience in cybersecurity, security engineering, or a similar technical role
  • Hands-on experience in at least two areas: endpoint protection, SIEM, vulnerability management, firewalls, or cloud security
  • Experience in scripting or automation using tools like PowerShell or Python
  • Proven experience in analyzing, triaging, and responding to security alerts and emerging threats
