This role involves joining the specialized IT Service Management (ITSM) team within the North Rhine-Westphalia Financial Administration. As a Network Support Specialist, you will be responsible for the planning, installation, and maintenance of diverse network infrastructures including LAN, WAN, and WLAN. Your day-to-day activities will include configuring hardware components like switches and routers, managing software updates, and performing rollout planning for local network upgrades. You will act as a key technical point of contact, analyzing and resolving network disturbances while collaborating closely with software development and data center operations teams. Required Skills
Education
University degree (Bachelor or Diploma) in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Communications Engineering, or Engineering. Alternatively, a completed vocational training as an IT Specialist for System Integration or IT Systems Electronics Technician combined with several years of relevant professional experience.
Experience
- Professional experience in at least two areas: Windows Server, Linux Server, Virtualization, or User Support
- Several years of practical experience in network technology required for candidates without a degree
- Experience in planning, building, and maintaining network infrastructures
- Experience in troubleshooting and resolving technical network disturbances
Languages
Additional
- Valid Class B driver's license required. Willingness to travel within the Bergisches Land/Sauerland region. Willingness to undergo initial training in other regions of North Rhine-Westphalia.
