Job Summary

This permanent role within the District Police Authority of Olpe involves providing critical technical support and forensic analysis for criminal investigations. You will focus on the preparation, analysis, and evaluation of evidence from various IT systems, specifically dealing with sensitive data such as child pornography. Your day-to-day tasks include recovering access credentials, analyzing communication software, performing internet research, and ensuring forensic data integrity for court-admissible documentation. Beyond technical analysis, you will serve as a consultant to leadership and case officers, advising on technical investigation methods and legal possibilities. This position is unique as it combines deep technical forensics with law enforcement support, requiring high psychological resilience due to the nature of the material processed. Required Skills

Education

University degree (Bachelor or Diploma) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Communications Engineering, or a related field; OR a completed vocational qualification as an IT Specialist (Fachinformatiker) with relevant experience.

Experience

  • Professional experience in IT forensics or information technology
  • Experience in the evaluation and analysis of digital data from IT systems
  • Experience in creating court-admissible technical documentation
  • Experience in technical consulting for investigation support
  • At least 1 year of relevant professional experience required if applying with a vocational IT degree

Additional

  • Valid Class B driver's license required. Must pass a security clearance. High psychological resilience is mandatory due to processing sensitive/disturbing visual material. Readiness for occasional work outside regular business hours and travel for multi-day training is expected.
