Job Summary
This role involves the planning, installation, and ongoing maintenance of diverse network infrastructures (LAN, WAN, WLAN) for the North Rhine-Westphalia financial administration. As a key member of the 'Networks, Systems Engineering, Administration, and UPS' support team, you will be responsible for the full-scale modernization of local networks, including rollout planning and the configuration of hardware components like switches and routers. Beyond hardware, you will perform software updates, analyze and resolve technical disruptions, and handle service requests in collaboration with IT operations and software development teams. This position is particularly attractive due to its stability in the public sector, offering a secure permanent contract, flexible working hours, and home office options. You will manage a specific regional area (Bergisches Land/Sauerland), ensuring the smooth operation of critical IT infrastructure for various tax offices and financial authorities.
Required Skills
Education
University degree (Bachelor or Diploma) in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Communications Engineering, Engineering, or a related field. Alternatively, a completed vocational training as an IT Specialist for System Integration (Fachinformatiker Systemintegration) or IT Systems Electronics Technician with several years of equivalent professional experience.
Experience
- Several years of professional experience in at least two areas: Windows Server, Linux Server, Virtualization, or User Support
- Professional experience in network technology at a level equivalent to a Bachelor's degree
- Experience in planning and implementing network hardware rollouts and software updates
- Experience in collaborative IT environments involving software development and data center operations

- Valid Class B driver's license required. Willingness to undergo training in different regions of North Rhine-Westphalia. Flexibility to work at various tax office locations within the Bergisches Land/Sauerland region.
