Job Summary
As a Network Administrator for the North Rhine-Westphalia Financial Administration, you will be responsible for the planning, installation, and maintenance of diverse network infrastructures, including LAN, WAN, and WLAN. Your day-to-day work involves the complete modernization of local networks, rollout planning for new hardware components, and the configuration of switches and routers including software updates. You will act as a critical technical expert in troubleshooting network disruptions and processing service requests in collaboration with software development and IT operations teams. The role is based in the Bergisches Land/Sauerland region, offering a secure public service position with flexible working hours and home office options. Required Skills
Education
University degree (Bachelor or Diploma) in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Communications Engineering, Engineering, or a related field. Alternatively, a completed vocational training as an IT Specialist for System Integration or IT System Electronician combined with several years of relevant professional experience at a degree-equivalent level.
Experience
- Several years of professional experience in at least two areas: Windows Server, Linux Server, Virtualization, or User Support
- Experience in network technology, specifically with (W)LAN and WAN components
- Practical experience in troubleshooting and resolving network disruptions
- Experience in IT operations and environment management is preferred
- Experience with agile working methods and automation frameworks is an advantage

- Valid Class B driver's license required. Willingness to undergo initial training in different regions of North Rhine-Westphalia. Position involves travel within the Bergisches Land and Sauerland regions.
