Job Summary

As a Development Engineer for High-Current Technology, you will be responsible for the conceptual design, dimensioning, and continuous optimization of high-current components. You will act as a technical consultant for customers, developing both standard series products and bespoke special solutions. Your daily tasks involve technical evaluations, preliminary cost calculations, and managing product development from initial idea to final series release. You will work closely with internal departments such as production and quality assurance, as well as external suppliers and customers. A key part of the role includes analyzing damage cases to identify technical improvements and maintaining detailed technical documentation. This position is ideal for engineers who enjoy a mix of technical design, cross-departmental coordination, and customer-facing activities, including occasional domestic and international travel to client sites and trade fairs.

Required Skills

Education

Completed degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Technology, or a comparable field of study.

Experience

  • Professional experience in energy distribution and high-current technology
  • Practical experience in performing short-circuit calculations and working with busbar systems according to relevant standards
  • Proven experience in the calculation, dimensioning, and technical design of power transmission components in the low-voltage range
  • Demonstrated knowledge in designing high-current connections for control cabinets, power plants, or e-mobility applications
  • Experience in technical consulting and customer relationship management
