Job Summary
This role involves the technical management and maintenance of Frankfurt's groundwater monitoring network within the Environmental Office. As a technician, you will be responsible for the physical inspection, assessment, and repair of monitoring stations, as well as conducting regular groundwater level measurements and water sampling for quality analysis. A significant portion of the work includes field operations, such as managing mobile data loggers and performing on-site data extraction. Back in the office, you will support data maintenance in geo-based software, evaluate measurement data, and handle data requests. Additionally, you will plan, tender, and supervise contracts for the construction or decommissioning of monitoring wells. This position is ideal for professionals with a background in civil engineering, geology, or environmental technology who enjoy a mix of independent field work and structured data management. Required Skills
Education
Completed technical vocational training with several years of experience or a qualification as a State-Certified Technician (Staatlich geprüfter Techniker) specializing in Civil Engineering, Geology, or Environmental Technology.
Experience
- Several years of professional experience following a technical vocational training or a degree as a state-certified technician
- Professional experience in water management, geology, or civil engineering is preferred
- Experience in planning, tendering, and monitoring technical contracts
- Experience in handling technical field equipment and data collection tools
- Professional experience in independent, solution-oriented project work
Languages
Additional
- Valid Class B driver's license and physical fitness for field duty are required. Must be willing to travel for outdoor appointments. Position is initially limited to a 5-year fixed-term contract.
