Job Summary
This role is central to the quality and completeness of large-scale FTTx fiber optic network projects in Essen. As a GIS and Network Documentation Specialist, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining 'as-built' documentation, ensuring that the physical fiber infrastructure matches the digital records. Your day-to-day involves working with CableScout and GIS systems to verify, import, and quality-check documentation provided by external service providers. You will act as a critical interface between the planning, construction, and operation phases, ensuring data consistency across network levels NE3 and NE4. This position is ideal for detail-oriented professionals who enjoy technical data management and want to contribute to Germany's digital infrastructure expansion. Required Skills
Education
Completed vocational training in Geomatics, Surveying, Telecommunications, or a comparable technical field.
Experience
- Professional experience in network documentation, specifically within the FTTx or fiber optics sector
- Proven experience using GIS systems, with a strong preference for CableScout
- Experience in documenting routes, cables, joints, and splices
- Experience in verifying and quality-checking documentation from external service providers and general contractors
