Job Summary
As a Data Engineer for the Data Platform at EDEKA IT in Hamburg, you will be a key driver of the digital transformation within Germany's leading food retailer. Working in the 'Customer Data & CRM' product group, you will be responsible for developing and optimizing data products, architectures, and pipelines within a modern Azure and Databricks environment. Your daily activities include managing ingress and export processes, ensuring high data quality through rigorous quality assurance, and maintaining curated data layers for various business departments. You will collaborate closely with Product Owners and development teams to meet technical requirements while adhering to strict data governance and security standards. This role is ideal for professionals who enjoy solving complex technical challenges and want to influence the IT landscape of a major market leader. The position offers a balanced work-life environment with 30 days of vacation and a hybrid work model (3 days office, 2 days remote).
Required Skills
Education
University degree or vocational training with an IT focus (e.g., Computer Science, Business Informatics, Data Science) or equivalent qualification.
Experience
- Professional experience in the development and optimization of data architectures and pipelines
- Extensive experience with cloud databases and modern cloud data processing technologies
- Solid practical experience with Microsoft Azure data products
- Experience working with Databricks is highly preferred
- Practical experience applying agile methods and frameworks such as Scrum in a technical environment
- Experience communicating technical requirements to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

- Location: Hamburg. Hybrid work model requires 3 days per week in the office. Candidates must provide annual salary expectations based on 13 monthly payments and their earliest possible start date.
