Job Summary

This leadership role at the Institute for a Sustainable Hydrogen Economy (IHE) involves spearheading the 'Dynamic non-equilibrium processes' team. You will lead scientific efforts to investigate (electro)chemical energy storage systems, specifically focusing on hydrogen storage catalysts. Day-to-day, you will develop and apply advanced X-ray techniques, coordinate synchrotron beamtime experiments, and oversee the analysis of complex data sets to understand catalyst activation and degradation. The position requires a PhD in a relevant scientific field and a strong background in X-ray spectroscopy and ultrafast science. This is a unique opportunity to shape structural change in the Rhenish mining area within a high-impact research cluster. You will benefit from a collaborative environment at Forschungszentrum Jülich, flexible working models, and the chance to drive innovation in sustainable energy technologies while supervising a team of doctoral candidates and researchers.
