Job Summary

As a Subject Matter Expert for Municipal Climate Protection in Düsseldorf, you will play a pivotal role in supporting municipalities and partner institutions across North Rhine-Westphalia. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve establishing and managing a state-level office dedicated to quality assurance for climate protection programs. This includes organizing back-office operations, conceptualizing public relations measures, and designing training sessions for consultants. You will also provide technical expertise in municipal energy management and energy-saving contracting while facilitating networking events between local authorities and associations. This position is particularly attractive as it is based at the EUREF-Campus, the largest climate-neutral campus in the region, offering a modern work environment with significant flexibility. The role combines strategic conceptual work with hands-on organizational tasks, making it ideal for a professional dedicated to driving sustainable energy transitions at the local government level.

Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree in Environmental Sciences, Geography, Spatial Planning, Administrative Sciences, Sustainability Management, or a comparable field.

Experience

  • Professional experience in the field of climate protection, ideally with a focus on the municipal level
  • Experience in organizing and conducting events, training sessions, or participation formats
  • Experience in working with public administrations, municipal actors, or associations is preferred
  • Experience in knowledge management and networking is desirable
