Job Summary
As a Development Engineer for On-board Power Systems at FERCHAU, you will be responsible for the end-to-end design and integration of electrical systems (12V / 230V) for the automotive industry. Your daily tasks include designing circuit diagrams and wiring harnesses, integrating components like battery management systems and solar panels, and coordinating interfaces between the vehicle chassis and other technical departments. You will play a critical role in prototype construction, commissioning, and error analysis during series production launches. This position offers a unique opportunity to work with renowned OEMs and suppliers on complex automotive projects. You will ensure compliance with safety standards such as EMC and VDE while collaborating closely with procurement and suppliers to qualify electrical components. The role is ideal for engineers who enjoy a mix of theoretical design in CAD systems and hands-on technical support during the production phase.
Required Skills
Education
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics, or a comparable qualification.
Experience
- Professional experience in the development of electrical systems or on-board power networks
- Experience in vehicle or special-purpose vehicle construction is preferred
- Proven experience in creating circuit diagrams and wiring harnesses using CAD tools
- Experience in prototype construction and commissioning of electrical systems
- Professional experience in coordinating with external partners and suppliers
Languages
Additional
- Must be able to ensure compliance with relevant standards and guidelines (EMC, Low Voltage Directive, VDE, GSR2). Position requires structured, independent work and the ability to support production through technical installation instructions.
