Job Summary

This role involves technical support for the 'FagoBreed' research project focused on Common Buckwheat breeding and genomic analysis. On a day-to-day basis, the successful candidate will process and clean buckwheat seeds for instrumental analysis, including grinding and moisture testing. You will perform chemical analyses such as protein and starch assessments using NIR, Kjeldahl, and polarimetry, as well as HPLC for secondary plant metabolites. Beyond the lab, you will record plant characteristics in the field, assist with sowing and harvesting, and manage data within LIMS and electronic databases. A unique aspect of this position is the opportunity to mentor students and interns within an international research environment at the Julius Kühn Institute. This is a fixed-term full-time position (39 hours/week) offering a structured public service salary (TVöD E 6) and flexible working models in Groß Lüsewitz.
