Job Summary

This role involves managing the stormwater drainage infrastructure for the City of Lübeck within the Urban Greenery and Transport department. On a day-to-day basis, you will conduct inventory assessments, plan minor repairs and new construction of rainwater pipes, and serve as the primary construction manager for renovation projects. Your responsibilities extend to drafting performance descriptions, evaluating bids, and conducting contract negotiations. You will also perform on-site construction supervision, ensuring strict adherence to schedules, costs, and quality standards while coordinating with internal and external stakeholders. The position is unique for its high degree of independence and its location in the historic heart of a Baltic coast city. Required Skills

Education

Degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Civil Engineering (Tiefbau), Urban Water Management (Siedlungswasserwirtschaft), or a comparable qualification.

Experience

  • Professional experience as a construction manager is ideally required
  • Experience in technical and construction operations
  • Experience with or within a municipal building administration is desirable
  • Professional experience in civil engineering or urban water management
