Job Summary
As the Head of the Civil Engineering Department for the municipality of Linkenheim-Hochstetten, you will lead a team of nine employees across critical infrastructure sectors including water supply, wastewater management, road networks, and public lighting. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve the strategic development of future-proof concepts for water and sewage, alongside the hands-on planning and execution of civil engineering projects. A major focus of this role is acting as the project lead for the comprehensive renovation of the local sewage treatment plant. You will manage budgets, oversee procurement processes, and represent the department in municipal committee meetings. Required Skills
Education
University degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water and Supply Engineering, Process Engineering, or a comparable engineering field.
Experience
- Several years of professional experience in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or water management
- Proven experience in personnel management and leading a team
- Experience in project management, specifically regarding cost and schedule tracking
- Professional experience within a municipal administration is highly desirable
- Experience in handling public procurement and bidding processes
