Job Summary

This part-time (50%) postdoctoral position at Düsseldorf University Hospital (UKD) is a central service interface for the DFG-funded Research Unit FOR 5889, focusing on chronic liver disease. As a Data Steward and Data Engineer, you will bridge the gap between biological researchers and IT infrastructure across multiple university sites. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve optimizing and standardizing data flows, developing research data management (RDM) strategies, and ensuring scientific processes align with FAIR principles. You will work within a dynamic network of universities, facilitating the generation of scientific knowledge through transparent data structures. This role is ideal for a life scientist with a strong technical background who enjoys interdisciplinary collaboration. The position offers a four-year contract under the TV-L E13 public service pay scale, providing a secure and professional environment at the intersection of clinical research and high-end technology like 2-photon microscopy.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (Master's, Diploma, or equivalent) and a completed doctoral degree (PhD, Dr. rer. nat., or equivalent) in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Medicine, Bioinformatics, or a related life science discipline.

Experience

  • Professional experience in research data management concepts and methods
