PhD Student / Research Associate | Doktorand*in (m/w/d)
Ruhr-Universität Bochum
Job Summary
This part-time PhD position within the Behavioral Neurobiology research group focuses on investigating pathomechanisms of neurodegenerative diseases, specifically targeting orphan G-protein coupled receptors (GPCRs) in the cerebellum. The successful candidate will conduct independent research involving molecular biology, cell culture, and biochemical assays to identify ligands and signaling pathways. The role transitions from in vitro studies to in vivo mouse models to explore physiological functions in both healthy and diseased brains. Key responsibilities include cloning plasmids, performing Western blots and mass spectrometry, conducting fluorescence microscopy, and executing behavioral experiments with mice. This is a unique opportunity for a scientifically enthusiastic individual to contribute to neurodegenerative research while supervising students and presenting findings in an international academic environment. The position is fixed-term for a duration of three years.
