Job Summary

As a Commissioning Engineer for High-Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) systems, you will be responsible for the configuration, testing, and commissioning of field control devices for switchgear. Your daily tasks involve conducting hardware and software tests, including customer acceptance procedures, both in Germany and at international HVDC sites. You will independently troubleshoot issues, support the software engineering team, and assist management with quality, risk, and claim management. This role is ideal for technical professionals who enjoy hands-on work in automation technology and are comfortable working on large-scale infrastructure projects. Required Skills

Education

Degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Technology, or a comparable qualification; alternatively, completed training as a Technician. Must be qualified as a Skilled Electrical Worker (Elektrofachkraft).

Experience

  • Professional experience in the commissioning of field control devices, specifically the SIPROTEC 5 series
  • Practical experience with high-voltage components in switchgear environments
  • Experience in testing interlocking logics and step sequences
  • Proven experience using Omicron testing equipment and protection relays
  • Experience in conducting customer acceptance tests for hardware and software

Additional

  • Valid Class B driver's license required. Willingness to travel extensively and undertake long-term assignments at construction sites both within Germany and abroad. Must be eligible to work in Germany.
