Job Summary

As a Senior Development Engineer at Airbus Defence and Space, you will lead the modeling and simulation efforts for hybrid and electric propulsion systems. Your daily responsibilities will involve utilizing Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies to define and develop architecture sizing models using Python. You will be instrumental in advancing simulation methodologies and tool landscapes to ensure efficient workflows, while leading the development of modular propulsion platforms that interface with flight mechanics, control, and communication systems. The role requires the creation and maintenance of subsystem modules in MATLAB/Simulink and Simscape, alongside rigorous verification and validation (V&V) activities using real test data. Required Skills

Education

University degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a comparable qualification.

Experience

  • Professional experience in engineering, modeling, and simulation
  • Experience in leading the modeling and simulation of hybrid and electric propulsion systems
  • Experience with fuel cell systems
  • Experience in project and stakeholder management
  • Experience with electric motors, batteries, and aircraft propulsion systems is preferred
