Job Summary

As an Electronics Development Engineer for Naval Solutions, you will lead the design and development of sophisticated hardware components from initial requirement definition to full series production. Operating within the maritime and defense sector for HENSOLDT, your daily responsibilities include designing power electronics, analog-digital circuits, and complex multilayer PCBs with high-speed signal integrity. You will be responsible for creating comprehensive manufacturing documentation, defining test specifications, and coordinating mechatronic and software interfaces. This role is highly collaborative, requiring you to manage external development partners and oversee the integration of electronic systems for video processing and communication protocols like CAN and Ethernet. What makes this position unique is the opportunity to work on high-stakes naval technology where EMC standards and MIL-spec requirements are paramount. You will play a critical role in bridging the gap between conceptual design and physical prototyping, ensuring all systems meet stringent functional and economic targets.

Required Skills

Education

Degree in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, or a comparable qualification.

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in the development of electronic assemblies and systems through to series production.
  • Proven experience with complex digital and logic circuits with high clock rates.
  • Professional experience in the military or maritime industry is highly preferred.
  • Experience in managing and coordinating with external cooperation partners.
  • Strong background in manufacturing processes for electronic components.
  • Practical experience using the V-model and agile development methods.

Additional

  • The role requires expertise in IPC, VDE, MIL, and EMC standards. Location is based in Oberkochen. Candidates must be able to work with CAD tools, specifically Pulsonix.
