Job Summary

This permanent role at the Westpfalz Police Headquarters in Kaiserslautern involves conducting cross-phenomenon Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) investigations to support various police units. You will be responsible for performing independent online research, securing electronic evidence, and developing or administering software and monitoring tools specifically for strategic internet investigations. Beyond operational tasks, you will contribute to the conceptual development of internet evaluation strategies and collaborate on cross-organizational IT projects. Required Skills

Education

University degree (Bachelor or equivalent) in Computer Science, Communications Engineering, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field; OR completed vocational training as an IT Specialist (Fachinformatiker) or in Communication/Media Sciences with relevant experience.

Experience

  • 3 years of professional experience required if applying with a vocational qualification (IT or Media/Communications)
  • Professional experience in operating systems, particularly Windows and Windows Server
  • Professional experience in programming languages including C++, C#, Python, or Java
  • Experience in the application of analysis and monitoring tools
  • Experience with SQL and database systems
  • Experience in documenting and securing electronic evidence

Additional

  • Valid Class B driver's license required. Must undergo a security clearance (LSÜG) which requires 5 years of continuous residency in Germany. Must provide a signed declaration of loyalty to the constitution and consent to a reliability check. Location: Kaiserslautern.
