Job Summary

As a Full Stack Geospatial Developer for the 'Information Platform of Energy Networks' (iPEN), you will play a critical role in managing standardized storage and processing for media data across national and international energy networks. Working within the Media Data Squad, your daily responsibilities will include building and operating geospatial databases, developing 2D/3D spatial frontend applications using React, and maintaining a microservice architecture on Kubernetes for processing large-scale raster, vector, and point cloud data. You will collaborate closely with UX/UI designers and utilize Microsoft Azure for cloud resource management. This position is particularly attractive for those seeking a remote-first environment within the energy sector, offering the chance to work with cutting-edge spatial technologies like CesiumJS and Potree. While the contract is initially fixed-term until August 2026, there is a clear prospect for extension or permanent takeover.

Several years of professional experience working in agile teams
Extensive experience in developing component-based web applications with React and TypeScript
Proven experience in developing REST APIs using FastAPI and Python
Professional experience with microservices for spatial data processing
Practical experience in scaling and optimizing geospatial web services
Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows
Experience with cloud infrastructure, specifically Docker and Kubernetes in an Azure environment

Additional

The role is primarily remote, however, the employee must be able to pick up and return hardware on-site in Markkleeberg. Participation in a mandatory in-person squad meeting once per quarter is required. The contract is initially fixed-term until August 31, 2026.
