Job Summary

This role involves building foundational expertise in machine learning to enhance laser welding automation and process monitoring. Working in a close technological partnership between Blackbird Robotersysteme and Lessmüller Lasertechnik, you will bridge the gap between physical engineering and data science. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing machine learning models, integrating these models into existing software solutions, and collaborating with the laser laboratory to generate high-quality training data. The position is unique because it offers the opportunity to transition AI research into tangible, market-ready industrial products within a highly specialized environment. You will work across two dynamic development teams in Garching and Munich, utilizing well-equipped laser laboratories for practical validation.
