Job Summary
As a Solution Architect/Engineer for Event-Driven Architecture (EDA) at the Information Processing Center (IVZ), you will play a pivotal role in the digital renewal of the ARD network. Your daily responsibilities include the conception, implementation, and operation of a highly available, event-based integration platform using technologies such as Kafka or AMQP. You will develop domain-specific event models and schemas while designing event-sourcing and status-tracking patterns. This role involves integrating internal and external systems into the event bus, ensuring strict adherence to security and compliance standards, and providing expert coaching on EDA best practices. This position is unique as it supports Germany's public broadcasting infrastructure, offering a high-impact environment with modern integration layers. The role offers excellent work-life balance with a 38.5-hour work week, 31 days of vacation, and the flexibility of mobile work from various locations including Potsdam or Cologne.
Required Skills
Education
Completed degree in (Media) Informatics or a comparable professional qualification.
Experience
- Several years of professional experience with event-based platforms
- Proven experience in the design, implementation, and operation of high-availability systems
- Professional experience in schema versioning and registry management
- Experience in consulting and coaching teams on architectural best practices
- Background in media informatics or a related technical field

- Willingness to travel to various IVZ or ARD locations throughout Germany is required. Preferred work locations are Potsdam or Cologne.
