Job Summary
As an IT Specialist for Mainframe and Batch Scheduling, you will be responsible for the planning, maintenance, and monitoring of critical batch jobs on IBM z/OS environments. Your daily activities will involve utilizing mainframe job scheduling software such as IBM Workload Scheduler, Zeke, or Control-M to ensure seamless operations. You will analyze and optimize existing batch processes, handle errors, and manage escalations to meet strict SLA requirements. The role requires adjusting JCL, schedules, and calendar definitions while monitoring log files for performance optimization. Required Skills
Education
Completed degree or vocational training in Computer Science or a comparable qualification.
Experience
- Several years of professional experience in mainframe batch operations and APX/PCC (APM)
- Proven experience in the administration of mainframe systems such as IBM Z-Series
- Extensive experience managing high-volume batch processes involving terabytes of data and millions of records
- Demonstrated expertise in troubleshooting and performance optimization on mainframe systems
- Experience with batch window management and scheduling tools
